1976 Mk 1 Granada 2.0GL Barn find where it had only completed just over 12,000 miles, genuine and recorded. 1 Family owned car, The car was last on the road in 1996, It had been dry stored with a tarpaulin over where the paint work had been damaged it was necessary to have a full exterior back to bare metal body respray, The inside is as original did not need any work, only fitted rear seat belts for kids safety, the inside of the boot also did not need spraying is as original, The engine bay has had a slight over spray but the engine is a original, Ford Pinto engine, New tyres were fitted, the car had an mot, and failed on one rear brake and the need for an exhaust back box.
The car was £3000 new in 1976, but had options for power steering and a passenger wing mirror, which were not taken up at the time, but I have since managed to get a passenger door mirror, which no one has yet noticed that the drivers side is chrome and the passenger is black, but this will be chromed when I can take it off,
The vinyl roof is original, the factory protection on the chrome inside the sliding roof is still in place, the exterior chrome is not perfect in some places nut only close to the eye.
I have owned the car for almost a year, but intend to keep it on its almost concourse condition, as it is a tribute to the car and to Ford, the colour is the original colour, but in order to preserve the car, as it has no rust and no filler I chose to have an extensive respray, which is documented.
The interior is Savanah cloth, no marks or damage, the dash board has been preserved as no sun damage, the clock actually works as well.
There are plenty of Mk 1 3.0 Ghia owned, but DVLA have confirmed that there are only 5 2.0GL of which only 2 others are on the road, one of which is automatic.
Probably the most original and lowest mileage Ford Granada around.
